We developed a unique concept aimed at engaging a Gen-Z audience in collaboration with NBA Europe and SBB. Our idea was to create content that tested NBA players on UK slang, offering a fun and light-hearted break from their usual media interviews. We had the opportunity to feature stars like Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, and several others in this series.
Strategy
The series was designed to blend short-form and long-form content, capturing the humorous attempts of NBA players trying to guess what the words meant. This approach allowed us to present the players in a more relatable and entertaining light, making the content appealing to a younger audience.
Results
The UK Slang Series has amassed over 1.7 million views across platforms, thanks to distribution on SBB and NBA Europe’s channels. Engaging primarily a Gen-Z demographic, it achieved a strong engagement rate (engagements/views) of 10.3%. We particularly enjoyed producing this content, and received great feedback from the NBA players who took part.
